This research compiled and thematically represented the R&D and innovation capacity of Canada’s offshore oil and gas industry as it relates to clean technology.
This research was presented as part of a joint event between econext, Noia, and the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP), and pursued through an initiative announced in January, 2021.
A video presentation summarizing this project can be viewed above. This research compiled and thematically represented the R&D and innovation capacity of Canada’s offshore oil and gas industry as it relates to clean technology. This included an identification of areas of strength or emerging strength in the Atlantic region (e.g. by specific subject matter and/or collective capabilities) that could be leveraged to drive clean growth within the industry.
The Net Zero Project supports the development of clean growth strategies and projects in four areas of Canada’s net zero journey as they relate to its offshore energy industry: carbon capture, utilization, and storage; electrification; renewable energy; and hydrogen.
