A recently released study titled A Feasibility Study of Hydrogen Production, Storage, Distribution, and Use in Newfoundland & Labrador estimates that developing the hydrogen production industry in the province could grow into an $11 billion per year industry by 2050.
The study was coordinated by the OERA (Offshore Energy Research Association) and conducted by Zen and the Art of Clean Energy Solutions with support from Dunsky Energy Consulting, Redrock Power Systems, econext, as well as from Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), which invested $100,000.
The Net Zero Project supports the development of clean growth strategies and projects in four areas of Canada’s net zero journey as they relate to its offshore energy industry: carbon capture, utilization, and storage; electrification; renewable energy; and hydrogen.
